Slow Cooker Ham With Pineapple Glaze
Slow Cooker Ham with Pineapple Glaze is a super simple main course for your next family gathering. The ham is slowly cooked with pineapple, honey, brown sugar, and spices. It comes out perfectly juicy every time!
Slow Cooker Ham with Pineapple Glaze
If making holiday cooking easier is wrong, then I don’t want to be right.
I get the idea of carefully cooking ham in the oven all day, basting it, decorating it with cloves so it looks perfect when it hits the table. And I like a good old-fashioned ham-lovin’ cooking session as much as the next person. But when the holidays roll around, you have 100,000 other things to think about. Like, is a bottle of Bailey’s an appropriate Easter gift? How many people did I invite to my house again? How many Easter eggs will my dog eat before the kids find them?ย And food should be theย leastย stressful thing on your mind.
Which is where slow cooker ham with pineapple glaze comes in.
This really is the easiest holiday recipe. Maybe ever.
You place the ham in the slow cooker, dump all of the other ingredients on top of it, and let it slow cook into oblivion. That’s really it. There’s not much else to it. You can play around with the glaze if you want to, the main part is that you keep the honey and brown sugar. But you can change up the spices, and the pineapple juice (maybe apple cider?) to suite your own taste.
I used a simply city ham here, but this recipe will work well with whatever type of ham you have. Southern, spiral, you name it.
And just in case you’re really menu planning here, I have a few more side dishes you might like.
3 Side Dishes To Go With Slow Cooker Ham with Pineapple Glaze
- Creamy Garlic Parmesan Mashed Potatoes –ย Mashed potatoes and ham are like the Bonnie and Clyde of the food world. I don’t know why they go together, but they just do. And there it is.
- Cheesy Cauliflower Soup in 30 Minutes – Here’s another easy one that you can put together when the ham has about an hour left on the timer. You can serve it on the side, or cut up the ham and throw it into the soup. Delicious!
- Lentil and Vegetable Soup – I know, another soup idea. But I really like how soup and ham go together. In fact, you can even save the ham bone and a few pieces of meat and use it when you’re making the soup. My sister freezes the bones for this purpose!
